A Visual Guide: Therapy With Me Is Like...
"Therapy with me is like tending a garden—some plants grew intentionally, some wild, and some struggle beneath the surface. The goal isn't to rip things out, but to understand what's growing and decide what needs care, space, or pruning."
What to Expect in the 1st Session
Our first session isn't about me asking you to tell me your entire life story or diving into every past experience—it's about meeting each other. Therapy with me is an unfolding, like peeling back the layers of an onion. There's no pressure to 'get it all out' or 'start from the beginning.' Instead, we'll follow what naturally comes up in the moment.
How I Work
Therapy with me is about getting to know yourself—not just your thoughts, but how you move through the world, the patterns you've developed, and the ways you've adjusted to life. I approach each session with presence and curiosity, creating a space where you can explore your authentic self. My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your experiences and find your path forward.

→ A body-oriented approach that explores how early experiences shape our physical and emotional patterns in the present
What This Means for You
In our sessions, you'll benefit from my deep training in how your body holds emotional experiences. We'll work together to notice physical sensations, tension patterns, and bodily responses that provide valuable insights into your emotions. If traditional talk therapy hasn't given you the results you're looking for, this body-centered approach offers a powerful way to connect what you're feeling emotionally with what's happening physically, creating new pathways for healing.
How I Learned This:
Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy (Center for Somatic Studies, August 2024-May 2025)
This body-oriented program explores how early developmental experiences shape emotional, relational, and physical patterns in adulthood.
Learn more →→ A present-focused approach that helps you understand your current experiences and relationships more deeply.
What This Means for You
With my extensive Gestalt therapy training, our sessions will focus on what's happening for you right now, in the present moment. I'll help you notice subtle patterns in how you express yourself, relate to others, and manage emotions. We'll pay attention to your body language and present feelings, allowing you to access emotions that may have been difficult to identify or express. This approach bridges the gap between insight and actual change, helping you experience immediate shifts rather than just talking about them.
How I Learned This:
Gestalt Certification of Completion (Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy & Training, Sept 2017- July 2020)
A comprehensive psychotherapy training program focused on present-moment awareness, relational contact, and integrating mind-body-emotion for holistic healing.
Learn more →→ Helps you understand and heal different parts of yourself, often tied to emotional pain.
What This Means for You
In our work together, I'll introduce you to the concept of understanding yourself as having different "parts" – like an inner critic, a protector, or a wounded younger self. This gentle, non-judgmental approach helps you identify and work with these aspects of yourself when they create inner conflict or emotional distress. We'll explore how these parts developed to help you cope with past experiences, and how they might now be causing difficulties in your present life. This approach fosters self-compassion and a deeper understanding of your internal world.
How I Learned This:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Online Circle: Foundations of the IFS Model (6 months, 2024)
A foundational course in the Internal Family Systems model, teaching how to work with different "parts" of the self to promote healing and integration.
Learn more →What I Can Help With
→ I help people understand their anxiety and panic by slowing down, noticing what's really going on, and exploring it with curiosity. Instead of just trying to get rid of it, we work together to understand what it's telling you — so you can feel more calm, connected, and in control
What This Means for You
Working with me, you'll learn to view your anxiety as a messenger rather than just a problem to eliminate. Through our body-based and present-focused approach, I'll help you slow down and create space to explore what your anxiety might be protecting or signaling. You'll develop practical skills to recognize thought patterns, connect with your breath, and notice body sensations so that anxiety becomes less overwhelming and more manageable. Our work together will help you move from constant reactivity to thoughtful response, giving you more control over your experience.

What This Means for You
As a queer therapist myself, I bring both personal and professional understanding to our work together. In our sessions, you'll find a space where you can be fully seen and accepted as you explore your identity, navigate relationships, or heal from the impact of living in systems that weren't built for you. Whether you're questioning your identity, processing coming out experiences, recovering from shame, or simply wanting to feel more grounded in who you are, I'll meet you with genuine understanding and support. Our work together will honor your unique journey while helping you build confidence and authenticity.
Experience
- I've spent over 7 years supporting LGBTQIA+ clients through identity exploration, coming out, family dynamics, and relationship challenges — with a deep understanding of the emotional toll of being "othered," including shame, hypervigilance, and disconnection.
- As a queer therapist, I bring lived experience to this work. I also receive ongoing supervision from Tom Lorio, an LGBTQ-specialized supervisor — especially focused on supporting clients navigating identity, systemic harm, and the lasting impact of being "othered."
Core Training that Shapes my Approach
- Gestalt Therapy Certification: Helps clients reconnect with their full identity in the here and now, especially when parts of the self have been hidden or disowned due to social or familial pressure
- Trauma-informed approach to identity development
Specialized Learning
- No formal LGBTQ+ certification
→ I help clients process change, make decisions, and find balance in new situations.
What This Means for You
During periods of change—whether you're experiencing a move, relationship shift, career transition, or identity evolution—I'll help you find solid ground amidst uncertainty. Together, we'll explore not just the practical aspects of your transition, but also the emotional landscape that comes with it. I'll support you in processing the complex feelings that arise, understanding how past experiences might be influencing your current response, and developing strategies to move forward with intention. Our sessions will help you navigate change with greater self-awareness and confidence, allowing you to shape how you meet what's next rather than just reacting to it.
Experience
- With over 7 years of experience, I support clients through major life changes — from relationship endings and career shifts to identity redefinition — helping them navigate uncertainty, grief, and disorientation, and reconnect with clarity and agency in the midst of transition.
Core Training that Shapes my Approach
- Gestalt Therapy Certification: Helps clients stay present and grounded during uncertain times, while exploring emotions that surface in transitional moments
- Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy (in progress): Supports clients in tracking how the body responds to change — such as tension, collapse, or urgency — and how early experiences may shape current coping
Specialized Learning
- No specialized training in life transitions
→ I help clients explore what's holding them back and develop greater self-acceptance.
What This Means for You
If you're feeling stuck in patterns of self-doubt or disconnected from your authentic self, our work together will help you develop a new relationship with yourself. I'll guide you to notice critical thought patterns and understand their origins, while teaching you to approach yourself with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. We'll explore who you are beyond the stories you've been told or roles you've adopted, identifying your unique strengths and values. Through our sessions, you'll build confidence that comes from genuine self-trust and self-knowledge, allowing you to move through the world with greater authenticity and inner security.
Experience
- Over 7 years helping clients build confidence and self-trust
- Experience helping clients develop greater self-acceptance and authenticity
Core Training that Shapes my Approach
- Gestalt Therapy Certification: Helps clients explore the parts of themselves they've hidden, dismissed, or adapted to be "acceptable" — and integrate them with compassion
- Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy (in progress): Supports clients in understanding how their body holds patterns of shame, self-protection, and early relational messaging around worth
Specialized Learning
- Gestures and Their Meaning (New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy): Subtly relevant — helps you notice and work with micro-expressions and body language that reflect self-worth, hesitation, or protective behavior Learn more →
- Retroflecting: Opening to the Authenticity of Experience (Gestalt Institute of Toronto): Relevant — retroflection (turning energy inward instead of expressing it) often plays a big role in low self-worth and self-doubt Learn more →
